The Aims of the Charity

1. The main aim of the Charity is to raise funds for research into Giant Cell Myocarditis of which little is known.

At present there is only one clinic in America that is currently running a research programme into this heart disease, details of which an be found at www.myocarditisfoundation.org.

We are hoping to raise sufficient funds so that research for Giant Cell Myocarditis can be set up within the UK.

Stephen competed the Great North Run in 2008,2009 & 2010, raising funds for Bowel, Prostate and Breast Cancer.

He also completed a charity Bike Ride from Newcastle to London with his colleagues from the company Think (Th_nk), raising substantial funds for breast cancer. He was in the midst of training for the 2011 GNR when he was struck down with the illness.

2. To support junior football at grassroots level within the North East. A one off amount to be donated to a junior team per season who have funding difficulties.

(From an early age Stephen's was involved in junior football playing for Wallsend Boys Club, Newcastle City Boys Team, NUFC School of Exellence and Wideopen Jnrs. He went on to play at Senior Level to a good standard in the Northern Alliance, Northern and Wearside League.
